The first Swedish Symposium on Deep Learning

This symposium aims to survey the field of Deep Learning for Computer Vision and Image Analysis and increase awareness of state-of-the-art methods. We also aim at bringing together researchers from related fields where deep learning can be useful.

More information coming soon.

Dates and venue

Dates: June 20-21, 2017 (before midsummer break)

Location: Stockholm, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)

Format

The symposium spans one afternoon and the following morning. Both days will feature several internationally distinguished invited speakers. There will also be an oral spotlight session where a selection of the extended abstracts are presented, as well as a poster session where all accepted submissions can be presented and discussed. The symposium ends with a plenary discussion where the future of deep learning is discussed.

Submissions

We invite submissions of two page extended abstracts. Submissions may be either from one of the application areas of deep learning, or theoretical. As there will be no proceedings from the event, authors are also allowed to submit previously published research.

In addition to a submitted abstract, we allow the authors to submit a short video (max 10MB) that showcases the research. Both abstracts and videos will be used to select oral presentations.

We also reserve the right to selectively compile the videos into a promotional video for the event, to increase the awareness of both the performed research and the symposium. More details on the submission procedure will follow.
